The Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore had briefed the industries at the IT Industry Briefing conducted on 26 April 2007.

Construction contracts for the public sector account for $1.8 billion. Purchase of goods and services amounts to $635m. The larger purchases include disposal of sludge for water recycling plants ($70m by PUB), 2 tenders for street cleaning ($70m by NEA) and setting up of a port operations control centre ($18m by MPA).

More information on these government tenders can be found on the Government’s e-Business (GeBIZ) website at http://www.gebiz.gov.sg.

The plan for public sector procurement was introduced in 2003 by the Ministry of Finance to inform suppliers about opportunities in Government procurement.
